Novelish

…sort of.

I’ve been working on getting my blog ready for two months now, and I’d probably hold off opening it for another month at least if I’d stuck with my original plan - to make everything perfect first.

But I got tired of waiting for that, so I just opened it as it is now. It’s not perfect at all - I’d like to redo a lot of the design, for one thing - but I’ll work on improving it as I go along.

I guess I should say a little about the blog itself:

I started Novelish because I found myself writing increasingly long “mini”-reviews of books in emails to my friends - and though I may have been boring them to death, I was having a lot of fun in the process. I figured I might as well have a place to post them publicly.

I also wanted a blog/website for me and anything I felt like putting on it. I have ~5 years of experience with websites, but I never felt like I could truly do whatever I wanted with them. I always had to think about whether a page of content would drive visitors away, or whether the people I collaborated with would be fine with it.

So, I’m going to try and post a minimum of one item per day from now on - if you’d like to keep track of things, my RSS feed would be a capital way of doing it (hint, hint). ;)

(Oh, and I’d love to hear suggestions or comments if you’ve got any for me - particularly since this is my first actual blog and I’m sure I’ll make my share of mistakes.)
